I've noticed that the bottom front of both rear flares are not tight against the body. I worry that when I eventually take it to a car wash (inevitable during a winter in Chicago) that it could cause damage if one of the brushes (whatever they're called) got caught in the gap.

Curious if anyone else has seen this with their Summit.

I just got mine. Manufacturered in march. The fender flares fromo the back are sticking out. The adhesive used is not sticking. The dealer wants to re order new ones but is unable to do so because there is no part number for the flares yet in the system.
Can someone please let me know, if that happened to you the Chrysler part number?

I just called the dealer and they advised that I'm the first one (my reply was, I'm always the first for any problem, until I search the net and find others). I have an appt on Fri, Jan 03. They said that they just remove and reinstall with new double sided tape. I can't imagine I won't have the same problem down the road. We'll see...

Not bad for a $52K sticker, double sided tape holding the car together...

6 figure cars also use double sided tape.

Sorry this happened to you, but 3m double sided tape has been an industry standard for over a decade.

Sounds like you got some contaminant on the drivers side before the tape was installed. As long as they properly prep with alcohol, you'll be fine.

Sorry this happened to you, but 3m double sided tape has been an industry standard for over a decade.

Sounds like you got some contaminant on the drivers side before the tape was installed. As long as they properly prep with alcohol, you'll be fine.

OP...these almost exact fender flares are used on the SRT. There have been some early in 2012 who had a few problems with them coming loose. SRT has fixed or replaced those flares. They will do the same for you. I suggest till you can get them replaced is to try one simple thing. Get the flare as dry as possible and heat up the raised area with a hair dryer.(do NOT use heat gun...too hot) Heat it up really good and then press the flare down and hold it for as long as you can. have some painters tape ready(blue 3m or the green frog type works well) and then tape the area down overnight. This has worked well for a few SRT guys. The problem with doing these flares in this manner is clothing, car wash brushes, car wash mitts etc. can get caught on corners and peel them away with enough force. Some of the other members are correct....3M tape is used industry wide on economy cars to supercars. I would guess 99% of emblems use this tape.
