Can't seem to find any for the 14s. Wife said no way, too ugly. I said what if we hit a deer on our way up north? We go every other weekend and I've dodged several in the past two years we've been coming up here. She entertained the idea but brushed it off. Heading up last night we get off the freeway switch seats and drive the 70 miles of 2 lane. I brought the subject back up, and while talking about it.... mother f***er I hit a deer brand new jeep not even 4k miles on it. Thankfully I was only doing 50ish when I hit it, and it was a baby following the large mom. It was crossing from the passenger side to the driver's side. It's head hit down low by the passenger fog light, pushed the fog light in, now thats just laying inside the bumper. (light is still on) bumper is unclipped by the headlight, there's also a hole in the bumper above the right tow hook. It was too dark to tell, but it may have dented the passenger side door...... So, now the wife is game for a guard. The next deer we hit might not be so little. And I don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere at 11pm. I figure even with a guard damage will still happen, but it might save the radiator and headlights

If you hit a big deer at 50 mph, chances are a grill guard will not give you a whole bunch of protection. Most were designed for off roaders (and those that want to look like off roaders) to keep brush, branches, and even small trees from going through the grill, and more importantly the radiator. These would tend to be low speed impacts.

Hitting the deer you are worried about at 50mph, the brush bar would give you a 50/50 chance of doing more damage.

Up until recently i thought grill/brush guards were a joke. I also have a ram 2500 diesel and plan on going with a road armor for real protection. But for the jeep its mainly the wife's vehicle, and she doesn't want anything gaudy. I really don't care if it does more damage than good in an accident, that's what insurance is for. I just want to be able to get to keep going without smoking the motor.
