Awful, awful headlights. I'm shocked at how badly it illuminates the road. Yesterday was my first try with them at night and I am not impressed at all. The cutoff is great and they are aimed properly, but it's just not putting out enough lumens to see anything beyond a few feet in front of me.

I guess HIDs are the alternative?

After having HID headlights for the last six years it's really a big difference when I drive something with halogens. HIDs have spoiled me. HID high beams light up the night unbelievably, couldn't live without them.

Sounds like someone needs to retrofit in some nice projectors and HIDs.

I couldn't own a car without HIDs anymore. I get angry when I drive rental cars without HIDs now.

I must have bright headlights. How did I ever drive in the 60's and 70's with "sealed beam" headlights?

These bulbs will easily replace the ones in the 2014 overloads or any jeep with the lux 2 package?
The short answer is NO.

Here is why:

2014 Laredo/Laredo E/ Base limited (Only these models have the H11 halogen projectors)

2014 Limited w/AHN Luxury package /Overland/Summit (These use the new D3S xenon capsules)

So you can only use the H9 bulb upgrade on a 2014 - Up laredo and base limited.

I have been very happy with my Sylvania ZXE (H11). My first original pair lasted over a year, just ordered a second pair from Amazon. Didn't find them at any store though, had to order from Amazon. Not HID but very bright and white. Their "Ultra" model put up more light but not as white. You guys talk about HID's like it's a simple swap.

I'd like to know if the HIDs from the lux II, overland and summit models will plug and play with Laredo and base limited. It looks like the physical dimensions would match.

I can vouch for the ZXE's as well I used them before I did bixenon upgrade and they where better than the standard halogens. After I installed the ZXE's I stopped using the headlights and the foglights to drive at night.

The ZXE's and regular silverstars are only guaranteed for a year, it is an easy swap but those bulbs add up and changing bulbs on the WK2 is a pain in the butt so it is better to find another option that lasts longer for the money.

Doing an HID retrofit on a Wk2 is not that hard if you use the CAN Bus capacitor instead of the relay harness, just make sure you get the shielded bulbs to cut down on some of the glare.

Didn't realize the 2014 had projector housings for the Laredo/base. I'd say go ahead and put an HID conversion kit. The projector housings "SHOULD" be give a clean cutoff and not give nasty glare to oncoming vehicles. I say try it. The only problem would be the CANBUS system, use a relay kit to avoid this.

Any answer on this? I would love to swap the headlights out in the near future.

I too would be interested in swapping out my standard halogen lights for the Overland HIDs - if the cost is reasonable. I'm not that disappointed with the halogen projectors in my Limited; I'd just like to have HIDs and would rather swap out the entire housings as opposed to adding an aftermarket kit or bulb.
