I am picking up a Forest River Rockwood Roo 19 Hybrid Travel Trailer this weekend and was curious if there were any Tow/Extended Mirrors for the 2014's?

Are they the same as 2011-2013? Can anyone with experience with a set make a recommendation - Need to find some ASAP to get before the weekend if possible.

I think you'll need to go with an additional set of mirrors. I use the McKesh mirrors (expnensive) that strap onto the doors since the ones that attach to the outside of the rear view mirrors aren't wide enough for my trailer.

Yeah - that's what I'm looking for. But just experiences with someone who has a newer vehicle (2011-2013 if it's similar to the 2014). Do you happen to have a link of the mirrors you use?

Additionally - Does anyone know if the 2014 has any sort of "Tow" mode that locks out OD? Did the previous models have anything like this?

The 11-13 with the hemi had tow haul mode. The 14's have the paddle shifters where you can set your highest gear to say 6th or 7th gear.

How much does the trailer weigh and how does the jeep tow it? What gear are you running in? Sorry for so many questions but in a few years I would like to get something along those lines.

Trailer weighs somewhere around 3800lbs right now I would guess. GVWR (Maximum Weight) on the trailer is right below 4800lbs.

I just leave it in drive and the truck seems really good about picking the right gear - I have not had to override it at all (only towed around 70 miles so far) but it did include some hills and minor uphill grades. It seems to stay in 5th-6th more, but on level ground it goes shift up to 7th cruising around 55-60. I never saw 8th while towing.

It feels good though, especially with the weight distribution hitch.

Hi, If you get the info; what kind of gas mileage are you getting towing as described? any long term observations? (not sure how old your post is???). I'm looking at a 22 foot trailer and your observations would be great.

TT & TV combo look great. I own a 2014 GC RWD V6 w/factory tow and am shopping for a light weight travel trailer now. Pls keep updating with your towing experiences as we all will benefit from real world experience. Also, where did you mount your brake control unit? With the drivers side lower air bag taking up so much space it's hard to find a mounting point that's not too conspicuous (ugly).

Not the best pic.. But see here.. It's pulled out here, but slides back further in the cubby. I can get to all the plugs in there.

Sorry I missed this before.. I'm getting about 10-12mpg avg when towing on the highway at 65-70mph.

Taking a longer trip soon, so I'll follow up with my experience shortly.

Also some new pics of the Mckesh mirrors.. They rock. A little noise on the highway after 55mph, then quiets down around 62-65ish.

These are the Mirrors I have used. They clip into the Bottom of the JGC Mirror (other way up) perfectly and stick out a long ways with no wind noise and very minimal movement.

Super easy to put on just a thunb screw and no marking

I tow a fair bit larger trailer but they are plenty to see all the way down the sides and for backing in touch places.
What engine is in that? Btw - do you have a link to the mirrors?

Thanks for the fast reply. I never would have thought of putting it there. How big of a hole did you have to make at the back of the little cubby to get harness through? Any sensitive stuff (wiring etc.) behind that I should look out for when making hole?
Thanks again.

It was a Summit V8 and the trailer is 7180 Loaded. It was borrowed for a trailering review (the truck, the trailer is mine). I used to tow with my ML320 and I have ordered a diesel.

I will get you some more info..
