Hey Guys..... I really like the 2014 GC. Trying to decide on an engine: I'm having a hard time locating performance specs on options. I'm guessing that there is a reason for this. With the new 8 speed I'm really curious on the 0-60's and/or 1/4 mile for:

1. 3.6L
2. 5.7 Hemi
3. Turbo Diesel
4. SRT

Buy the turbo diesel!!!!!!!, amazing engine, perfect balance of v8 performance with economy better than the v6,just test drive it and you will be hooked by the torque instantly, this is what makes it so enjoyable to drive.

The v6 8spd combo is a lot faster than the old 5spd v6. I also thought about waiting for the diesel. I didn't think the diesel was worth the extra 4500. Eco mode is horrible. Sport mode is great.

Motor Trend tested diesel 0-60 at 7.9. Still pretty awful... there is no getting around 240hp in a 5300 lb. brick.

The 5 speed works absolutely beautifully with the crd because it's torque curve isn't worried with
5 gears at all , it will be very interesting how it performs with the 8 speed, remember sometimes having gears changing a lot more often can be less relaxing of a drive, 5 or 8 gears are a lot less of an issue regarding the turbo diesel when compared to the petrol v6 and v8, i paid an extra 5000 dollars and i would do it again in a heartbeat!.

Is a little different in the US. Here it is $4500 on top of a Limited (n/a Laredo for now) so you wind up over $45k with towing package. Also you add 520 lbs over the V6.

Bottom lime, you have an incredibe range of vehicle weights from 4545 lbs for a 2WD V6 Laredo to 5393 for an Overland Diesel 4WD, nearly 850 lbs difference. It is hard to compare apples to apples with that king of a spread.

Of course CJF has downgraded the Laredo to essentially fleet duties. It is interesting how many models are being advertised/quoted that are just not yet available.
