Not touchy at all....that won't happen. You'd have to bump into it really good in order to shift into neutral... definitely not by resting or moving your hand on/around it.

In order to shift into an actual gear, you need to depress the button.

I leave my hand on the shifter all the time. It's not an issue. You'd have to knock the shifter pretty good to even think about bumping it into neutral.

The one thing I don't like about the new setup is you can't go from N to D without depressing the button. Small, but an extra step nonetheless.
