Might want to wait for the Durango to come out before hacking into it to much. Not sure what to expect from that since I haven't been following that thread as much. If they put a rotary dial on that console it might be easier to retrofit.

I do like something to sort of rest my hand on anyway, so I doubt I'd put much effort into swapping out a Durango dial. I do think the dial would look a little better appearance wise though. Sure hope I still like my GC more after we see the details next week.
