I've had some funny things happen when I accidentally hit one of the paddle shifters. It seems to go in a mode of its own until I use the console shifter to get back to automatic.

If you press either of the paddles, it goes into manual shift mode and will lock into whichever gear your in when you enable it. If you hold the right paddle (+) for a couple seconds, this will put the transmission back into automatic and it'll go through the normal shift patterns.
