I was worried about the same thing when I bought my 2013. What I did was just take a small black towel, wrap it around the armrest and tuck it into the top layer of the console, and then close it holding the towel. I can still use the larger Bin and the towel stays in place really well. My dog loves to stand on the armrest with his front paws and it gives him a non slip surface in traffic.

Exactly my dog loves to stand on it to look out the window. I'm long for an option that I can still use the top part of the cover and the armrest cover is more attached.

Well, I started using the towel as a short term solution, but it really does work well. It doesn't move at all, easily washed, it was really cheap, I can still use the armrest, and in the hot summer it feels way better than the leather on bare skin. It has become my permanent fix.

I got this for the back seat and it's outstanding for keeping the seat in good condition. As got the front armrest that barrier is a bit extreme for my purposes. My dog is pretty good about laying down and hanging in the back while the vehicle is moving.

I just ordered that cover. Thanks.

My dogs are fine while moving. It's when we stop it's a problem.

It is a great cover. Just make sure to unclip the belt that goes around the back of the seat before lowering the seats. I made a mistake and tried pulling it off and ended up tearing a little bit at the connection seam. Nothing a little bit of dental floss and duct tape didn't fix though.

Any other suggestions for cover for the arm rest?

Nice!!!

Just ordered the black one. If it is crap I'll return it, but anything is better then the leather getting torn up from her claws.

I am not sure of what other options are really out there. I do like the feel of the leather, but with a pet it takes a beating.

It fits real nice, not a universal fit item, each one is custom made for whatever vehicle you have. Wraps right around the cover with a rubber band that is sewn into the bottom edge. When you don't have the dog just take it off and throw it inside the console and enjoy your clean, unscratched leather. And when it gets grungy you can just throw it in the wash.

Mine is vinyl, on a 2014 limited diesel, for the record. I always seem to end up with my elbow on a specific spot, so now with under 50k miles I have to small cracks about 1" long in the vinyl. Really it very much should have been leather in a wear area, and you can dye and polish scratched leather if you don't like the look. I don't particularly like how the seats are wearing either, if I keep this past 100k it is going to need them replaced with some better quality after market leather.

The cover from Just for Jeep is excellent. I have it on my Summit and don't know what I would do without it. It also has pocket to stick you cell phone in. You don't get a sticky arm rest since the material is like terry cloth. I just ordered another one for my JK Wrangler.
