Hello, I have 2014 GC V6 limited with trailer tow group. (bought 4/1/2013)

From a coupe of weeks ago, I've heard very strange noise from the engine room.. (I guess and feel it is from the bottom side of engine room)

It only makes noise when the car is fully stoped, such as stop sign or red light.

It is very hard to describe the sound. My best descriptions are

- This noise goes about 1 second and stop.
- There is sound but I don't feel any significant vibration.
- It is not high pitch
- similar as some heavy metalic gear is not matched well .. and runs in wrong place.

Does any body have similar issue or any idea what is wrong in my brand new GC?

If you park and turn it off, do you hear the same noise without the engine running? I ask because it could be the load leveling suspension. There is a compressor that will run intermittently. I won't say all the time, but often enough. You could try to force it on by having a friend stand on the hitch or sit in the cargo area to simulate a load and change the height.

I was told that Jeep GC is using ZF Nivomat load leveling shocks for tow-package and Nivomat does not use any compressor. Does Jeep use a different shocks for 2014? Anyway, I will try your suggestion today, thank you very much. (ask my friend sitting in the cargo)

I don't know if there is a separate package on the non Quadra-Lift 2014's, but the tow package with the air suspension is part of that, and it does use a compressor that runs at highly counterintuitive times. Including with the vehicle off and you are just standing on the door sills to reach up to the center of the top.
