Ha, I knew they were getting rid of Hydro Blue!

That's why I ordered one 4 weeks ago and it should be here next week.

FYI, the new blue is going to be a lighter shade and probably not pearl/metallic.

Cool, I am so glad 2017 Wrangler thread has started. I am seriously disappointed with the 2016 colors. I hope they make an orange color for 2017. I was ready to pull the trigger for a new jeep, but with the lack of good colors and only seeing mostly black, silver and white Jeeps on the dealer lots I will have to say this was a horrible year for Jeep Wrangler, at least from my perspective. Thumbs up for 2017, as it should be better!

Thanks Milous.
And I agree with J2fold. I want a JK but current colors are uninspiring. I hope to see a yellow or orange for 2017.

At least for now it looks like Hypergreen will stick around for a while. This way we can see it before deciding, but it will be a long wait for a 2017. I'd like to see Sahara tan replace Mojave sand, and Rescue green replace Sarge green.

Final model year for the "JK" generation
I thought from the recent FCA announcement, that for the 2018 model year, there will be an overlapping 2018 JK (Wrangler Classic) and a 2018 JL (new Wrangler)?

In a way that makes sense, there's no way FCA wants to give up a couple of months of Wrangler sales during changeover. It would also help them work out the bugs in the new platform before it goes to full volume.

The way I understood it was they may make 2018 JL's while still making 2017 JK's

Discontinued exterior colors:

Mojave Sand

Sarge Green

Xtreme Purple

Hydro Blue

I can't believe that they only offered Sarge Green and Xtreme Purple on the special models and now their gone. And Mojave Sand didn't last long either. What's up FCA!!???!

I guess that is what makes Sarge and XP so very special.

Plus, there was never even a hint that they would ever be offered on anything else.

2015 was a better year than 2016 for the Wranglers. They ruined the Sahara with all the chrome inserts and darkening the wheels. They put out way too many special models, each having only a slight variation making it too hard to even find a specific special model in the right color with even coming close to having the right options on a dealer lot.

I ordered my '15 JK in August of 2014 and the same '16 model built with the same options is around $3,000 more MSRP. And the colors in '15 at least offered an orange and yellow version. Extreme Purple finally coming to fruition was the '16 year highlight for me (though I still love my Hydro Blue better).

I'm stoked to see what Jeep will do for the final year of the JK.

I was hoping that Sarge and Xtreme would spread to all models like Anvil did after being offered exclusively on the 10th Anniversary. I think the colors that aren't available on all models shouldn't detract from the ten total colors that are offered at one time. (i.e. We lost Tank to get Sarge but Sarge was only offered on 75th model. ). I think Xtreme and Sarge would have sold a lot of units in other models of Wranglers.

They only have so many paint lines at the plant and it takes up to 2 months to change over the colors, that's why they have to get rid of one color to add a new one.
