Re: 2016 2017 Koons DC Group buy

It does come off. All that is put on is a sticker. It peels right off.

To those who have ordered from Koons. Does the stick/paint of the koons logo on the back of the jeeps come off. I like to debadge my vehicles and want to know if it can come off. Thanks for reading.

Re: 2016 2017 Koons DC Group buy

I just picked up my new Wrangler Big Bear Edition two-door from Koons yesterday and the entire experience was very pleasant and very 'hassle-free'.
Not just good pricing but an overall great car buying experience, highly recommended. :)
Thanks again to Craig and the Koons DC Group Buy program.

Did you get the Black Bear in Chief Blue, or is it "Hydro Blue"? Either way, I really like how the black fenders contrast against the body color.

It's actually a Big Bear and it is Chief Blue, the only blue available (at the moment) for model year 2017. Both the (similarly equipped) Black Bear Edition and Hydro Blue color were dropped after the 2016 model year. :)

Are these group buys still something going on? I am new here and don't know a whole lot about this or the process. Thanks in advance

Re: 2016 2017 Koons DC Group buy

Wasn't this group buy offering 7% below invoice (As confirmed by Craig in post #97 of this thread), at one time not the 6% below being offered now?

And didn't Koons allow you to pick from dealer inventory, now it's only being offered on factory orders?

What happens if you have to order a Jeep and the current monthly incentives, ($2000.00 right now for 2017's w/the 6 cylinder as of 3/31/17) expire in the 4~6 weeks time it takes for your Jeep to be built and delivered to Koons?

What if anything else, has changed??

Re: 2016 2017 Koons DC Group buy

We changed the 7% to 6% back in November the same time when we change to only doing it on Factory Orders. Nothing else has changed since then, otherwise I would have posted it. It has been the 6% since November.

For the incentives, you would be getting whatever incentives that are out once the vehicle would touch ground and you would be picking it up. ie; You submit an order today and the Jeep arrives in April, you would be getting whatever April's rebates are not March because you are officially buying the Jeep in April.

Isn't it Chryslers policy to honor rebates and incentives that are being offered at the time a contract is agreed upon by the dealer and buyer. (A sold order, which appears to be the only way one could participate in the group buy since the parameters were changed in Nov. of last year to allow only for factory orders)

That contract or invoice should include a deposit and written agreed upon price including the current incentive or rebates being offered. (Signed buyers order)

This was a question from a thread posted on this forum titled;

"If you order a jeep and incentives change??"

Here's the link to that thread:
Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum

I have cut and pasted the answer to that question as posted by a Chrysler Dealer rep who once posted on this forum, (Post #8 from the above link):

Price Protection
Price Protection is available on sold orders to protect the customer from price increases which occur between the vehicle order date and the KZ (invoice) date. A claim for Price Protection must meet the following criteria:
The sale must be documented by a signed and dated buyer’s order which details the agreed upon selling price at the time of order and secured by a customer’s deposit with receipts at time of order. Dealer must print and retain the Order Confirmation
Ordered new for immediate production, or selected from dealer stock orders not yet invoiced, and delivered to the original customer

Must be delivered within 14 days of the date the vehicle is received at the dealership (KZX date)
Must be delivered to the customer whose name is on the factory order and subsequent factory invoice at the documented agreed upon price at time of order
You must claim Price Protection by inserting the price protection program number on the Exception Claim Entry Screen when reporting the sale. Program numbers are in the Pricing Announcements and stored in DealerCONNECT eFiles under Sales.
Price Protection claims are made via "DealerCONNECT > Sales > Incentives Claims Processing > Incentive Claim Entry > Exception Claim Entry"
Sold Order Consumer Incentive Protection
This program protection may be available when a vehicle is sold or ordered for a customer during an incentive program and that program has expired by the time the vehicle is physically delivered. This protection is available unless stated otherwise in the Official Program Rules. A claim for sold order consumer incentive protection must meet the following criteria:
The sale must be documented by a signed and dated buyer’s order, during the program period, which details the agreed upon selling price, and secured by a customer’s deposit with receipts, at time of order. Dealer must print and retain the Order Confirmation
Ordered new for immediate production, or selected from in-transit dealer stock, and delivered to the original customer
Must be delivered within 14 days of the date the vehicle is received at the dealership (known as X date)
Must be delivered to the customer for whom the order was placed and at the originally agreed upon price at the time of order
All consumer incentives must be documented as being passed on to the customer on the buyer’s order as described in the Required Incentive Disclosure/Documentation Section
If the vehicle is delivered after the end date of the eligible program, the customer will have the choice of either the consumer programs available at the time of customer order or consumer programs at the time of vehicle delivery, but not both
The qualification date is the date the dealership and customer agree on the purchase or lease of a vehicle. The purchase/lease terms, conditions, and price of the vehicle must be clearly documented via a completed signed buyer’s order and proof of deposit/payment on the date of sale. This date can override the delivery date for incentive payment. This date protects the customer and/or dealership for any eligible incentives available at the time of sale (excluding

objective-based and stair step programs). Qualification Date is also known as Sale Date
Incentive Protection claims are made by entering the Program ID and Qualification Date (in addition to delivery date) on the Exception Claim screen found via "DealerCONNECT > Sales > Incentives Claims Processing > Incentive Claim Entry > Exception Claim Entry"

Is this no longer Chryslers policy??

Or does Koons choose to not honor/accept that policy??

Why did it change to 6% did Krystal ride into town and start cracking her money whip? Is there still the $499 fee or was that dropped to off set the change from 7% to 6% ?

Re: 2016 2017 Koons DC Group buy

I'll chime in again as a thoroughly satisfied group buy customer. I bought mine last June, when the deal still applied to dealer stock. I was in DC on business and wrapped the deal up in a few emails and about 90 minutes at the dealership - drove the GC home. Very professional, straightforward, and true to the numbers promised. I didn't have a trade to muddy the waters, but they were honest enough with me on the buy that I wouldn't worry too much about them trying to screw me on a trade. One note on trades - I and several friends have sold cars to CarMax and gotten very reasonable prices - always better than the figures offered on trade with a new-car dealer. Of course, you have to figure in the sales tax benefit if your state computes tax based on sales price minus trade in, but it's been my experience that CarMax's pricing makes that a non-issue, especially when you figure in the lack of aggravation. For certain when it comes time to replace my '16 I will look to Koons first for my next one.

I believe the current non-negotiable tack on fee Koons charges in this group buy is now $599.

Re: 2016 2017 Koons DC Group buy

Hey folks...While there have been some changes to the offer over time, this group buy is still a very good deal compared to what many folks can ever get close to "out there". This dealer has also provided full disclosure on their terms and costs which is a nice change compared to many dealerships. It is what it is and if the current promotion isn't good based on what you can get locally, no big deal.

Yes I agree this group buy appears to be a good deal for many forum members, just not as good as it used to be though!

Do you know if Koons honors Chryslers Sold Order Consumer Incentive protection policies??

Iv'e asked but haven't gotten a reply yet?
