I bought a used 2018 Grand Cherokee about 6 weeks ago, and suddenly have a very loud rattle coming from the sunroof area on the passenger side. I recorded a video this morning to show what I mean:

It is very loud and sounds like morse code!

Notice I'm not going any faster than 20 mph on relatively flat roads in town.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

My sunroof on my 2018 makes a noise occasionally but it's more like loose glass panels, yours almost sounds like glass hitting glass or metal repeatedly.

Got a 2018 with the exact same problem. Already to dealer once not fixed. Hard to reproduce consistently, but have on video just like you. Did you get anywhere with that TSB and getting it fixed yet? Would love to know what they did and if it worked.

Ended up replacing both pieces of glass. but in the process, they realized there was a loose metal bracket which they also tightened, so they don't know if the new glass fixed the issue or the bracket.

Glad to hear they fixed it. I've been twice already, they did that TSB referenced, no help. Problem is mine happens sporadically and I can't figure out how to replicate it. Sounds like next step is to push for glass replacement and check brackets.

I am also dealing with the same exact issue. 2017 GC Overland with 11k miles on it. This noise developed very early on as well. Vehicle is currently at the dealer for the 5th time for this issue. They have performed the TSB, lubed everything, tightened everything, etc. Their most recent solution - "replacing the passenger headrest..." :lol: I have suggested the possibility of needing to replace the sunroof frame/glass etc (because that seems to be the only solution that has worked for people) But that has gotten me nowhere. Hoping that I can somehow get this resolved...

I’ve been doing research while dealing with the same noise issue. I just got my 2018 Grand Cherokee back from service today. The rattling is gone and I’ve attached my copy of the repair order however I’m convinced I’m now getting more wind noise than usual coming from the moonroof area and I feel like there’s pressure in the cabin because my ears now pop when driving with all glass closed. Wondering if anyone else has experienced and if these problems after the repair?

I am having this same issue. An ambient temperature of 60 degrees makes sends the sunroof into a frenzy. I brought it into the dealership and they confirmed the noise. I also gave them the TSB and they informed me that I was 2 days past the build date that was specified by the TSB. They didn't do the TSB but had my vehicle all day and "tightened" things that were "loose". The noise is worse now and I have more air noise. It cost me $150, what's the next move, keep giving the dealership money to keep trying?

I'm heading back to the dealer Saturday for my 2nd try at fixing the sunroof rattle on my 2019 Grand Cherokee. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does you can't hear anything else. If they don't fix it this time I'm contacting corporate. There is still 8500 miles left on the warranty.

Corporate won’t do anything, don’t bother! It’s a known issue that’s why a TSB was created, but they didn’t do a recall or warranty extension. Just contact an attorney and start the lemon law process.
