100% agree with Stomper. I have a 2017 Overland and tow a Flagstaff travel trailer...no problems. No issues when weight distributing hitch set up properly. Really like the QL suspension all the time, towing or not.
I did a poll on a facebook group (I think) about those with QL and if they ever had an issue. It was 90%+ that never had an issue with QL. Mileage ranging from 12k to 200k. It is a gamble in the end. I 've thought about getting an extended warranty before my 36k warranty is up on my current WK2 with QL. But for the cost and my financial situation, I think I may just take that cash and set it aside in case something does go wrong.Hundreds of thousands of GC have the quadra-lift system and have no issues. A small percentage of owners have problems but they go on each and every website, forum, or social media platform they can find and complain loudly.
That is not true. Both the MY22-23 WL-75 (3-row) and WL-74 (2-row) have QL on the Trailhawk, Overland, Summit and Summit, etc. "WK2" for MY22 was a short term overlap and only included the three lowest trims.I understand they dropped the air suspension from all 2022 models because of all the warranty issues.
For what it's worth, my '21 TH WITH QL suspension takes a beating on the forest service and mining roads in the Northern Rockies - and I even nodded off one night and drove clear off a 2 -3 meter embankment with speed, and as I came to I was convinced the air suspension would be obliterated; not so - so YMMV as with everything but the one thing aside from the engine that hadn't gone to crap is ironically the air suspension ( for context, the cheap flush side rails have bent up torqueing my roof, the ACC sensor is shot because of that "skid plate" i.e. plastic trash can lid they put as a belly pan etcSo to give some preface I have a 2016 JGC Limited 75th Anniversary. She’s got about 105k miles on her and was received when it had 55k miles on it about 2 years ago. She also is a 4x2 that has the Factory Tow Package. I plan on keeping this car for the long run, but am keeping my eyes out for other newer potential JGC to get if any should pop up. Whilst looking at other WK2’s the one thing I’d change from what I have now is adding 4x4 onto the next one. Although that seems to be a bit harder than I thought.
Ultimately my goal is that I’m trying to find a JGC that has both 4x4 AND the Factory Tow Package, but not one that has air suspension. I’ve heard too many horror stories of how unreliable they are and I’m quite content with the regular suspension they usually have. If I’m not mistaken, it seems like I can get what I want by going with either the Trailhawk, Summit or Overland trims, except they have air suspension and are a bit on the pricey side. I’ve even thought about getting a WK2 and having a dealership install the tow hitch and wiring, but I won’t get the higher tow rating since I technically don’t have the other necessary items to make it so.
So my question to you all is this; Is there a JGC WK2 trim level that has 4x4, the Factory Tow Package with no air suspension?
Air suspension was temporarily deleted from certain trims due to the chip shortage. That is my understanding, anyway. Warranty issues are not a big deal on the QL system. Case in point---they are still offering QL after what, 12 model years now?I bought a 2022 4x4 WK2 Altitude with factory tow package and no air suspension. I understand they dropped the air suspension from all 2022 models because of all the warranty issues.
True, but the specific vehicle mentioned by 'biggy was one of the 2022 "WK2"s that were produced in parallel with WL and only in the lowest trim levels. Altitude (a Laredo) hadn't had QL available much at all for "WK2".Air suspension was temporarily deleted from certain trims due to the chip shortage. That is my understanding, anyway. I was specifically talking about the WL vehicles. I didn't realize the WK2 had any QL delete or unavailability. Nevertheless, I believe QL has been restored to all versions that should have it....now if the just restore the eLSD, all will be normal again. I still haven't seen a single Summit Reserve available lately with eLSD. Every single one seems to get a delete on it and a $400 credit on the monroney sticker.True, but the specific vehicle mentioned by 'biggy was one of the 2022 "WK2"s that were produced in parallel with WL and only in the lowest trim levels. Yes, I know...'just wanted to make sure that it was clear that 'biggy was referring to a "WK2" since you quoted him. There is sometimes confusing here in the forum because of the platform production overlap and that short period of time when Laredo, Altitude and Limited "WK2" was still offered while WL-74 (two row) was already rolling of the line next door.I was specifically talking about the WL vehicles
