Ok I got $500 to spend and cannot decide on what to spend it on.

1. Radar Detector

2. Axle back exhaust (Borla, Gibson)

3. Diablo Intune with hemifever tuning

Which way would you guys go?

My jeep is a 2012 Limited 2WD with hemi and a volant CAI.

The wife takes top priority and gets dinner all the time so no worries there.
Put that $500 towards the payment of the jeep? beat them out of interest?
Paid 30K down on the Jeep and with 1.9% financing there isn't much interest on a $221 payment.
Exhaust IMO
Ok 1 vote for exhaust!!

None of the above.

Radar Detector - Just about useless in areas that use laser (LIDAR). You'd be better off with a jammer.

Axel Back Exhaust - Noise maker only, no HP gain...if anything you lose low-end torque. You own an SUV, not a race car.

Engine Tune - Depends...I hope you're not talking some garbage chip. A custom "Protune" on a dyno is the only worth while engine tune.

Personally I'd bank that $500 towards your next set of tires.

I disagree re: the jammer. They fit very different purposes. Neither is a sub for the other. In areas with curvy roads, laser is next to useless for the police, so a detector will serve better. In city driving, laser is never used, so a detector is better. For highway driving I'd still prefer the detector if I had to pick one.

My old Beltronics have saved me so many times, it's not even funny. Here in NJ I have seen radar in use maybe once or twice in about 5 years. It depends on where you live. The new ones also have GPS location of speed cameras. Second on my list would be the exhaust since you have the HEMI.

Yup. My Escort has GPS not only for cameras but so that you can lockout known false alarms. It makes driving in the city bearable so that you're not getting constant alerts around malls, etc.

Radar detectors are not useless in the wide open areas of Texas.

Yes I own a SUV but that doesn't mean it has to sound like a Priuis.

Hemifever tune if that is suitable with you.
