Navigation has been good for the little we used it and I'd rather have the heated seats control on the dash, but that is probably just because I am used to them there.

Just hit the VR button on the steering wheel and say "Turn on driver (or passenger) heated seat" - no need to go thru the touchscreen to do it. :thumbsup:

***CORRECTION*** - This is incorrect! You can only control climate settings; media; and navigation via VR - can't turn on/off the heated seats or steering wheel functions via VR.

1. Is there any way to get the speed displayed inside the digital/analog speedometer? (Pic 4 in pic 3)

2. It was mentioned removing the flipper glass for improved visibility. Do you notice better visibility?

3. How does the shifter actually work. Can you feel shifting into PRNDS?

Here's my take on your questions after driving my Limited for several days now:

1.) No; I don't believe so. You can have the large digital speed numbers displayed in the center, or above other info, but can't have the digital numbers inside the analog-style speedo. But, you can display other vehicle-related digital gauges inside the analog speedo - such as oil temp; transmission temp; and a few other gauges.
2.) Not sure about this question - but the rear tailgate glass in the '14s does not open as it did in earlier models.
3.) The shifter is electronic (fly-by-wire); it's not connected to a cable like every other shifter you've used. The travel on it is extremely short - for example, to shift out of park into reverse you depress the brake then the button on the left side of the shifter and pull it down just one notch. To go from reverse to D, you just pull the lever down until it stops - then it returns to its normal position on its own. It's awkward at first, as you want to pull it all the way down and out of the console simply because that's the way every other shifter has worked that you've ever used but you quickly adapt to it and come to appreciate the smooth feel of it.

Yes, you can control those functions via VR as well. The VR system is amazing. If you want any phone-related function (e.g.; calling or texting someone) you press the phone button - for anything else you press the VR button and you can likely control it via voice (changing radio stations; climate control setting for driver and/or passenger; and many more things).

It will also tell you whether it prefers synthetic or conventional oil.

Yes, there is a small tray directly under the arm rest, but that lifts up and there is deep storage beneath that (if you don't have the CD player).

Have you tried controling the climate and seat features via VR? It doesn't work..

Works on my RA4 system - e.g.; "Set driver temperature to 69 degrees." You sure you're pressing the VR button and not the green phone button? Your phone won't know what to do with your seat.

I was able to set the climate using VR by saying set climate to 72 degrees. Other than that, I struck out on most other tries including the seats.

Northland, how are you saying it to get it to work with the seats? Is there a list of accepted commands? When you say help with the VR, it goes through some generic ones for the phone and radio, but then says consult the owner's manual, but I didn't remember seeing anything about being able to control the seats/steering wheel.

I said you can turn on/off the heated seat function via the VR system - never said anything about controlling any other seat or steering wheel functions. Even computer voices have limitations.

Sorry, I meant what are you saying to turn on the heated seats and does it work with turning on the heated steering wheel? I tried several different times and phrase variations to turn on the heated seats with VR and it never worked.

That could be fun if you could control the seat position and mess with other people while driving by raising/lowering their seats :lol:

Well, my apologies - I got back in the car and tried the seat heater command; doesn't work for me either - must be my old age confusing that with the climate control, which does work via VR.

Did Jeep provide any documentation about how to use the voice controls?

"RTFM", as they say! I finally did; it confirms that the VR system only controls media selection; navigation input; and climate (temperature) setting - doesn't control heated seat function. Maybe I need to adjust my meds...:slapfight:
