Hi Guys,

Hoping somebody can enlighten me if there is a way of disabling the Accessories 30 minute cut off. eg, if you were listening to your radio on ACC for 30 mins, it would automatically turn off. A bit of a pain having to reset if you are at drive in and etc.

MY14 JGC LIMITED CRD.

Thanks

With the amount of electronics in the newer vehicles, I would not recommend running it on ACC that entire time... It will wear down the battery pretty fast. I think it has been discussed here before but there is no way to stop it from doing this as it is protection from killing the battery.

I agree, you should be able to set it, or override it.

I'd leave my old Jeep on all day at the beach, occasionally.

Occasionally on healthy battery won't hurt anything.

What if Lassie was saving Timmy down the mine shaft and you were using your headlights and poof the lights go out just as Lassie was about to rescue Timmy.

This is unfortunate. We have a drive-in movie theater (yes! a few of those still exist) around here and the audio is broadcasted over FM. With my old vehicle I was able to leave ACC on for the full show. Now I'll have to either restart the ACC mode once or twice, or bring a boombox with the Jeep (what a waste not to listen to the movie through my 19 way HK). I guess drive-ins are now a thing of the past (at least from Jeep's POV).

If you are too busy to press a button a couple of times during the movie at a drive in, you ain't watchin' the movie anyway. ;)

Many, many, many years ago, I missed a lot of movies at the drive-in.

You could put the vehicle into RUN mode by double pressing the button with no foot on the brake. Make sure to turn off everything you don't need like HVAC stuff. It will stay on in this mode but I don't know what kind of run life we are talking.

The H / K is all green edge stuff so it is really efficient but that is still a lot of draw. You may even want to shut off the radio display while watching.

Royal pain. I tow my Wrangler behind my RV and have a Brake Buddy that sits on the driver side floor and is hooked to the brake pedal and plugged in to the cigarette light to operate. Worked great with my previous Jeep. This 2021 auto shuts off after 30 minutes so brake system shuts off. Stupid design. Can't find a way to override it.

You could switch the rear outlet to "always powered" by changing the fuse, and use that to power the Brake Buddy.

Use the direct-feed lighter plug in the armrest bucket instead of the switched feed lighter plug in the center stack cubby. If the cord reaches one, it'll probably reach the other.
