So I know this has been covered at nauseum but I found a way to make the alpine system sound very good. The stock head unit sucks no matter what. I had ths same rbz touchscreen in my old patriot and it sounded pretty damn good when plugging in my android phone. Ipods or iphones sound good as well. You have to download the music player app (poweramp). This app has a 10 band graphic eq as well as other sound shaping options. Just a suggestion but I will no longer be upgrading the speakers.

I know apple usually has preset eq settings but if there is a graphic eq app that you can download to fine tune your device, you should be good.

You're right. It does suck. I've been updating the system in my Ram, and it still sucks. You have to spend a fortune, or dump the whole system to significantly improve.
