I used amsoil for a few years when we had a vendor here on jg. Great stuff but unless you can get a deal it ends up being very expensive. I would get 15-17k out of an oil change with their best stuff! (Dont worry my mpgs didnt go down after 3k hahaha). I never used their gear oil because i can get royal purple for $15 a quart

I use Amsoil engine oil and in the Diff's. It is actually cheaper than Mobil 1, and RP plus it tests far better and they ship to your door, saving gas money. To get the best price, just search online for a local sponsor, and register. They will pay your application fee, so you get jobber prices rather than retail. Then you order direct form Amsoi, using the registration number.

The Amsoil gear oil is FAR better than Mopar OEM (rebranded Shell), and also Mobil 1, and RP. Had to have my rear QDII diff rebuilt after 70k using Mopar oil, changed at the dealer at the recommended intervals. I'll only use Amsoil now.

I really doubt that the Mopar oil caused the failure, no way. Amsoil = overly hyped, and of course way over-priced due to all the profits needed to support everyone in their multi-level marketing scheme. Lots of fingers in the profit pie!
