Add me to list, chrome mesh grill supposedly ordered back in March with car order.
Car delivered June 28th, asked several times where is grill? back order, moving warhouse, ect, ect. Called into dealer yesterday only to discover it hasent being ordered at all!
Paid $880.00 at time of purchase for grill. Paid again yesterday from a Mopar supplier in Nunawading grill arrived today. So now should have credit at the dealers for a couple of services. Now to watch the bean counter at the dealer squirm there way out!Interesting to note the Mopar guy at Nunawading was very helpful new what I wanted exactly and how to fit it.
Do you know why. I ordered the CRD Limited 2 weeks back prior to reading this thread. I had no idea that things were this bad with this product, after sales service, parts ordering, etc.
I ordered mine on 2nd Oct and it is due to arrive in early Nov.
Do you guys think I should pull out while I have the chance. I will lose the deposit and will have to pay 3% of the cost price.
I really love this car and I am so disappointed and dejected with all the ongoing issues i have been reading over the past 2 days.
The Stuck-In-The-Sand issue is truly a joke. Whatever happened to testing the cars for a million kms these days.
People had warned med about the Jeep especially the brand but I thought hey this car won wheels car of the year, drive car of the year, it can't be too bad.
...there's nothing ultimately wrong with the product and the CRD is a wonderful engine. You hit the nail on the head with regard to after sales and part supply. I foresee no positve signs of improvment, personally ignored by the dealer principle of Leo Muller on issues stemming back to June etc...etc....but I've got to make the point, other marques especially Nissan are copping the same deserved criticism. The WK2 has a deserved spot ranked against cars at least $25k more expensive, it just that rare to find customer satisfaction they struggle with, and that issue and piss poor attitude stems from head office Australia hence the reason many of us look to the US for support.
Mate, there is NO SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE JGC, the problem is Chrysler AU and their attitude towards parts and service.
I assure you you will love your car and hopefully you will not be affected by poor service and delays in getting parts.
Chrysler AU has recently moved to much larger office/warehouse, so we may see a better supply of parts in the future. As for service, that is a long road, unless you have a good dealer, only use them for warranty work.
As every week goes by there are more and more JGCs on the road. I've had a couple of issues but to-date Jeep Australia acted and all issues have been resolved or are in the process of being resolved.
I've had mine for nearly a year and 15,000 kilometers and no problems. I spent a week on Fraser and it performed as well as my old d4d prado I had previously. Stick to your guns. You will be fine. Make sure you find a good dealer for after sales service and everything will be ok. I've got a friend on his 5th jeep and he's happy.
Well I heard that Clyde is personally overseeing the stocking of the new ChryCorpAU mega warehouse. Apparently he is flying to the USA once a month and making sure he returns with the maximum allowable luggage limit.
He has worked out that by doing this it increases the parts supply to AU by 50%. Apparently next month he will be increasing this by a further 50% as his wife will be coming on the next trip

Have a look at blog sites for other vehicles and you might find they are not much different. We are just passionate about our cars. If you find a site where everyone is happy, let me know, I want that car!
Add me to your list as well
Dealers take your money and then silence. 'I know nothing' aditude from dealers
Ordered may mate ordered his a month later both arrived on the same boat his delivered to his dealer a week before me
Sales man told me that they put on bonnet protectors and mini window shield and a tow pag to make up for any issues
I then find out that this is part of the tow pack ny way
Price of parts are a joke
Yep put me in the list
Car great jeep not
I'm dealing with northern jeep motor group in bundoora, VIC. The Sales guys there are absolute crap! wouldnt negotiate a deal, shit during sales service and kept trying to push me to get the finance through them when i had a shitload better deal with a different financer.
However, their Service team are fantastic! I even took my mum's 03' cherokee in there with a stuffed transfer cable and were great with that too! Couldnt fault them.. The price of parts are an issue but if you want something, they will giv eyou the option to order it from the states or if u want it immediately, order it from them for x2 the price. I think thats fair isnt it?
If they fixed their sales team, they would win dealer of the year.. On the other hand, sales team in frankston were awesome! trying to source the right car, at a really good deal.. I only found them after putting a deposit down on my jeep gc with haildamage, could of got one without damage for $2k more.. but still 8k less than RRP.
funny to see jeep.com.au still advertising 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokees when some owners have already taken delivery of in 2014 Grand Cherokees in Australia
I have now done 87000 klms in my WK2 I love the car and have a great service Manager who works hard to keep me smiling, I think people need to have an understanding attitude cars by their nature can have issues(my previous Prado had issues) its how the issues are dealt with and how the dealers are backed up that is really the issue here.
Like I said my service manager is worth his weight in gold but he does struggle at times with "lack of parts" and stupid GOUGING prices- check any part price online from USA and treble it goes close to being the Aussie price.
I have not yet needed brake pads but asked a price and told $270 for both front and rear pads(US rears are RRP $87 Front RRP$143) surely freight is not SO expensive on such a compact part with little chance of damage in transit.
