Just had my baby (2012 GC LTD) repaired after a little parking lot scrape. ($800.00 so not bad). Learned that only the BEST body shops follow the practice of "clear coating" the entire repaired panel. Mine had just a football size area repainted (red) but they clear coated they entire panel end to end (the rear painted panel, side to side, just above the gray plastic). They said that partial clear coating can be a disaster down the road as washing & waxing will show that transitions/gaps from the old and new clear coat. Plus the said to use only a shop that shoots BASF paints as all the rest are crap!

Coal Creek Collision could use DuPont or Sherwin Williams (they use to use DuPont exclusively) but chooses to use BASF and pay $80-100K more per year for paint. They said they save more than that amount with ZERO warranty and redo costs! Plus these people have two $300K spray booths and sonar frame alignment. Go check out some really GOOD shops before you blab about your opinions.
