I have 2018 Grand Jeep Cherokee, 53k, in excellent condition, however a long bubble appeared on my audio/navigation screen and it acts possessed! Will skip to other channels, make calls, navigation pops up and then there is a constant bleeping! Anyone know a solution?

some people have successfully removed the coating that is on the screen, but if your not comfortable doing that then replacing the screen or the whole radio is the only other option.

There are several posts about it, which was why I was hoping someone could help!
There are dozens of threads about this. I'm sure he was being sarcastic. Read through the first dozen or so for answers. Here are some links to help get you started.

Jeep claims they are now covering the repair even if out of warranty. Started a case today as mine just did the same thing a few weeks ago but recently became completely inoperable

Hi Jr
I have 2018 Grand Cherokee too with bubbling screen. My radio works fine. Is there a recall on this? Have you got yours fixed? Send a Jeep 800 telephone number if you did. I think Jeep knows but does not want to fix after warranty when it happens to everyone. Watch a YouTube a guy who takes out screen out and then sends out to get fix and puts back in. Refurbished about $500+.
Thanks

No recall but some owners have had theirs replaced as a goodwill gesture. Read through the thread below for more information.

If true this is good news.
Could it be your dealership is replacing the head unit out of good will?

Can you provide any links or official Jeep documentation on this?
What is that phone number all about? A Jeep or Uconnect contact or something else?

I dont think you'll find it in writing anywhere , but they have been covering them on a case by case basis for a while now.
If yours is delaminated, a phone call to customer care followed by a trip to your local dealer is how you get the ball rolling

Luckily I already had my Uconnect head unit replaced under ext. warranty with a $100 deductible and went on with life.
As a plus the replacement Uconnect head unit had better updated software.

The bad part however, the tech that replaced it broke the plastic Uconnect face plate which the dealership replaced free of charge a couple weeks later. The service writer told me that face plate with embedded controls was a $1800 part.

Also the techs that replaced the Uconnect head unit and later the face plate dented the hell out of the foam dash right above the face plate probably using a screw driver or a trim removal tool to pry the upper part of the face plate off.
Have to live with the dash dents as there is no way i want the dealership to replace the entire dash.....what could possibly go wrong?
I wanted my trusted tech there to do the replacement but was told the tech that verifies the de-lamination is the tech that does the replacement. BS, true or not who knows?
Seems like there's always a good news\bad news combo.

After reading the numerous threads and posts here regarding de-laminatied Uconnect screens i think "they have been covering them on a case by case basis" has been going on all along.
Some appear to have them replaced free with or without JeepCares's help while others not so much.

My advice to anyone with the issue is to first contact JeepCares and take it from there.
Myself i didn't want to deal with the hassle so i dished out the $100 deductible and called it a day.
