I thought about adding it, but instead decided to use 3/4" rubber side molding. My color is dark, so the molding is virtually invisible, but still protects against door dings.

As much as I like the look I worry about door dings. I see it is available on several web sites. I was wondering if anyone had installed it on a 2014.
What rubber molding did you use? I haven't seen anything available for this yet?I thought about adding it, but instead decided to use 3/4" rubber side molding. My color is dark, so the molding is virtually invisible, but still protects against door dings.
Not OEM, I got it at Pep Boys, believe it or not. It is black vinyl, with 3M double sided tape. 3/4" wide, and looks identical to what BMW uses on the X5.What rubber molding did you use? I haven't seen anything available for this yet?
stevm65 covered this a while back quite extensively. with measurements and pictures.Do it and post pics. I am thinking about it as well, but too afraid I'll stick it on crooked. And there is the minor issue of removing the Grand Cherokee letters that are there now.
Pictures? :thumbsup:Well finally went and bought the Jeep moldings. Some 14 Jeeps look good without them while others look cheap. Mine is white and after having two other white JGC my 14 just looked cheap without them. Just a personal preference. Plus the extra protection for the doors is worth it.
The link to an image in your Gmail doesn't work. Here is a picture. Surprised me they appear to be metal. Not a surprise the packaging says China.

Yes I contacted some of the ebay vendors and they stated the pieces where chrome stainless steel, I thought they would be chrome painted plastic. Here is a picture. Surprised me they appear to be metal. Not a surprise the packaging says China.![]()
At that price I was expecting steel not plastic.Yes I contacted some of the ebay vendors and they stated the pieces where chrome stainless steel, I thought they would be chrome painted plastic.
That actually looks pretty nice, but I would rather it be in black. I wonder if plasti dip or painting on this would be possible. They are hell of a lot more expensive, than the ones we are looking at.
About double the price, the one linked to is only one part of four required.
You also have to remove the existing GRAND CHEROKEE decal, as the sit in that area.
These others sit above it.
Here are some fresh pics from Colozzie today.
The molding i installed were OEM 2013. I had to remove the Grand Cherokee logo.Has anybody installed the OEM molding from the 2011-2013 models? I thought I saw a thread on that a while back.
MOLDING. Left. Rear Door. [MJB]. Exterior Ornamentation. JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (2011 - 2013) # 55079309AE, 55079309AC, 55079309AD
Easy to both options, you could simply do it before you attached them. That actually looks pretty nice, but I would rather it be in black. I wonder if plasti dip or painting on this would be possible.
