Hi everyone! haven't posted in a while, been enjoying my jeep ;)
I was looking at the 2014 limited online and boy did we lose alot on the 2014, i'm kind of upset that they took away some of the features that were standard on mine like the HIDs, panoramic sunroof, nav, rain sensing wipers....:( If I was trading mine in that sucks. Now i have to add the luxury package just to get the features that used to be standard....:( I know they did away with the laredoX, but geez
When i build my exact same jeep as a 2014 it's like $3,000 more. Good thing I'm not trading mine in yet......lol!

Here's to hoping they put those standard features back on the limited for 2015 :)

Interesting, in Aus we had a $1000 price rise across the board from MY13 to MY14.
For the Limited however, it effectively became $2500 cheaper as Nav became standard instead of an option.
Also the power lift gate is now included.

I'm so glad limited didn't include a sunroof.

Some of those other festures would be nice but I'm sure they would not be free.

Yes, glad I wasn't forced to take a sunroof that I never use. I know that hurts resale value a little on down the road, but it's one less thing to maintain if not used.

Out of those features, the ones i would really miss are the HID's and the rain sensing wipers....Those are my favorite! I don't really care about the Nav, I never use mine and can always use my phone :)
Even if they gave it a regular sunroof standard and made the panoramic an option....;)
Well, at least the heated steering wheel (i use this alot in the winter) and power liftgate are standard

I spoke with the sale rep that I bought my 2012 Laredo X from and he helped me with the trade assist into a 2014 Limited. He mentioned that there were too many trim levels and in 2014 they wanted to slim them down a bit. Also, the Laredo X wasn't really a trim, it just turned out that the order number was X26 or something like that for the package, so it was a Laredo trim that had an X26 package, similar to the LUX II package on the limited now, but the X caught on.

I love the upgrades the limited has over the Laredo X I had, but kind of wishing I got the LUX II package for the lights, roof, and vented seats. I have never used the rain sense wipers so neither here nor there about it, but the bigger sunroof gave me pause for when I put weight on the roof rack. I couldn't find a Jeep within 500 miles that had ORA I, Towing, Nav, Hemi, and LUX II in limited. Closest was one without ORA I, which I could have installed after the fact.

He also mentioned the loss of the flipper glass saved something like 100lb of weight.

The fact that the 8-speed transmission is standard across the board really makes up for all the stuff you listed and more. The rest of the stuff can be added by checking the option box on the order form. No big deal. But the 8-speed auto transforms the vehicle in a big way.

BTW, don't forget about the extra stuff found on the 2014 Limited like the power liftgate and the heated steering wheel and the awesome big LCD screen in the dash and the LED tails and the dual exhaust on the V6. The gauge cluster is much better too, with a nice big screen in the center. Plus, I love the design of the new 20" wheels that are available.

Yeah, but how much did the addition of the power liftgate add? Probably quite a bit I bet. Honestly, I'd be just fine without the power liftgate, but most people really expect that these days.

Yes I would be OK without the power lift gate too, but this is my first one and I have found it useful for the shirt time I've had it.
