Considering '14 Jeep Questions About Engines

My husband and I are considering a '14 overland and we've came to two. While comparing the window stickers we found one has a 5.7L V8 hemi vvt engine fuel saver technology for 2,695. And the other has a 5.7 liter V8 MDS vvt engine w/ fuel saver technology for 2,195. Can anyone tell me the difference in the options?

The price of the 5.7L HEMI V8 increased by $500 on May 1. Jeeps built before May 1 are nor included in the price increase.
They wanted to make more money. There is no difference in options between the two.

Yes, the MDS is replacing "fuel saving technology" in all the literature. same stuff.
Hmmm sounds like a bad joke lol well thanks guys

That's the correct answer.
They increased the price of the Hemi to make the diesel option more appealing. Interesting because they just finished the "power rebate" where they incentivized the Hemi. Supply and demand...
