How would a regular size person access the fuses in the inside of the cabin in a 2008 J.Grand Cherokee. It located under the dash on the left of the steering wheel column. I can see the fuses using a mirror and a flashlight but I don't see how anyone could actually pull or replace a fuse in this location unless they were an acrobat. :lol:

It makes you wonder why engineers would put it in such an inaccessible location. I've heard of some cars where you had to loosen the motor mounts and raise the engine to change one of the spark plugs. Is that stooooopid or what ?? Rumors are that some dealers don't change that plug.....

Did you pull down the panel as noted in post #2. It looks like a pair of pliers might still be needed to pull the fuses straight out.
If you think that's bad, try changing one of the front marker lights. I could barely reach the bulb through the access panel in front of the wheel and then you have to blindly feel around to get the socket into the right position and twist it to lock it in place.

Thank you for the heads up. Hopefully the light will not burn out anytime soon. Jeep corp. (Daimler) and other car makers should have their engineers be made to try changing out items on their vehicles. You have heard about the car that you had to lower the engine in order to change out a spark plug. Mechanics must like it if they are paid by the hour !!

It was on a 1975 Chevy Monza V-8, #8 cylinder. In many states, you are entitled to get the replaced parts back with your vehicle. However, you probably shouldn't be patronizing a repair facility that would behave like that.
Back to topic:
I think the knee-blocker is easily removable to access the fuse block/body connectors. Look here: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK - Interior trim removal
Thank you for the excellent reply and instruction illustration. These diagrams and directions are perfect for many of the workings on my Jeep G.C. limited. Where are these manuals located and where can I purchase them. They are worth their weight in gold for working on interiors. Thanks
