Has anyone else had this issue. Just noticed this on my 2018 GC. The display screen is starting to delaminate. See photo. It is not a crack, it looks like layers are separating (delaminating). Will they have to replace the whole unit or is the screen separate???

^^^

Yep got mine replaced last week (under warranty still). Took a few weeks to arrive but I had sent photos to the dealership to avoid an extra trip. There was a code on the invoice said replaced "UNDER SOR 997163*". So I am assuming they musta gotten a bad batch of them or a more common issue. The new WL Grand Cherokee is reported to have the display separate from the radio part so that would cut down on screen only replacement costs by a lot since they had to replace the whole radio unit in mine.

One more thing to worry about as i'm getting close the the bumper to bumper mileage expiration.
Gonna have to check my screen carefully.

Yes, check the screen and anything else before the 3/36 is up. I bet the radio replacement isn't cheap if out of pocket. They had to keep my GC overnight to check out the sunroof but was told the radio swap would normally be an hour or two type of thing. Gotta love those minivans for rentals.... LOL

Yep totally understood and have been checking.
But these things seem like they fail right after the bumper to bumper warranty.
I'm having some maybe a little regrets buying this TrailHawk with many air suspension failures documented here, my power RV mirror acted up once and now this here screen issue.

What could possibly happen next to keep me from sleeping at night. lol

Perhaps consider purchasing a mopar extended warranty.
Don't have the Mopar ext. warranty but got two others including a platinum plan with one of them.
Hopefully they'll cover most of these GC issues but the real test will be when i apply for a claim when or if need be.
We'll see.

Mine started as well months ago. Unfortunately i got the UAQ as a replacement for my 2015 GC in order to have CarPlay.
So in order to avoid to purchase the entire radio, i found and purchased just the screen replacement from eBay.
First time i received a defective screen which was showing a starting delamination in the upper left corner.
Sent it back and ordered another one from a different supplier.
The first supplier confirmed to me that after my claim he checked his supply and found an entire batch of defective screens !
This is my screen:
227663

And this is the screen I received:

227664

Eventually the delamination will begin to affect the digitizer layer ( the touch sensitive layer ) and the radio will begin to act crazy as if you were touching randomly the screen which is my situation now...

Mine started last month. Service advisor knew exact issue when I called, said radio has been on back order because there have been issues. Only took about 2 weeks for the new radio to come in and day to replace.

Just got back from local dealer. Replaced my UAQ. It does look a bit different. Now I just need to re-pair bluetooth devices.

Two questions: How long did it take for them to replace it? (I'm going on 21 days) #2 What looks different about it?

I dropped my vehicle off at 7am today, and it was completed by 10am. The dealer ordered the replacement unit 3 weeks ago. The new unit's touchscreen appears more clear, whereas the original seemed to be more of a matte. Let's hope this one does not delaminate over time. Hope yours arrives soon!
