Hi everyone

My WK2 v6 2012 won't start by push button suddenly
I was try for more than 10 times but when i try by the key the engine stared
So
Anyone have any idea about my trouble
Note: this cause 2nd time happening with me

Did the EVIC give you any messages while pushing the button? Did it cycle back to off position upon failure or did the button stay at run?

It didn't give me any message

And the cycle is off ( look like when the fuel pump not working )
But when i start it by the key everything is OK


before one hours i tried again by push button and
It working well

So
I don't know the trouble from the button or fuel pump or from where
There is no any message or check engine light

Change the battery in your key fob and see if that solves the problem (or try your other fob). They do funny things when the battery starts to go.

I agree, replace the batteries in your key fob. My 2011 GC limited started acting that way in the cold of winter too, but the message was "key not detected". Replacing the batteries in both fobs fixed the problem. They only cost $4 at the Jeep dealer and they opened the fobs and put the new ones in. Al

Had this problem in my jeep well before any forum were around for help on wk2's. It turns out it was actually a blown fuse under the hood. Matter of fact I believe it was 2 fuses.

However i will replace it

Never had any trouble starting mine, have had it refuse to turn off before but then the door lock doesn't work.

But at the second time the fuel tank was at the half so I'm thinking about the fuel pump until i removed the push button and used the key

Take the car into to the dealer it is the TIPM

I had this issue with both cars. The funny thing is it won't do is all the time but to an unknowing person using the car they may panic and have it towed. This issue won't go away so make sure you have it looked at imediately. I don't think there is a TSB for is but when I complained at the dealer they were well aware of the issue and what the remedy was.

Here is the work around until they can replace your TIPM

If you try to start the car by the push button and it stalls.

Turn the radio off. Without your foot on the brake push the start button until it says run, Listen to hear the the fuel pump engage.


do this about 3 times then put your foot on the brake and start the vehichle


Or if you prefer pull out the start button and cycle the key from off to run 3 or 4 times.


The issue is not with the fuel pump it is with the TIPM not driving pump at the proper pressure to charge the line for the engine to fire.


Funny part is usually by the time you put in the Key and turn it two clicks to start the proper voltage is sent to the pump to charge the line.

I had the same problem and they only fixed it by replacing the tipm. Get it done before you have a fuel pump failure as well.

Totally Integrated Power Module. Under the hood on the passenger side. Large box with fuses on top.

If you have no warrenty and do not use a dealer, you really should buy the factory service manual CD.

Before replacing the TIPM you should verify that it is not the fobic however if nothing displays in the EVIC when you push the button then it could just be the button.

I was having a similar problem on my wife's 2011. It would crank, fire but not start, crank some more and sometimes start and idle rough for a few seconds other times not start at all. I read all the headaches about the TIPM and was checking fuses etc. I noticed she had a charger plugged in the 12v hot power point in the console. I unplugged it just on a whim thinking it was interfering with the remote start or effecting my battery etc. It has started normal every time since unplugging it over a month ago. I suspect my battery has a bad cell, but have not had the time to have it tested. Can anyone else who is having the problem verify that they are using the 12v port in the console?

There was something in the owner's manual that basically said if something in the system isn't working right, unplug or turn off anything aftermarket as it might interfere with the Jeep's system. Even a charger gives off some kind of energy.

No charger that is not specifically designed to be clean puts out pure DC, it will have a 60hz component in it. The issue is that some sensors and actuators really are AC (e.g. "pulse width modulated") and their signals can be scrambled by any sinusoidal component in the DC.

Alternators are specially constructed to minimise this. Cheap chargers & wall warts are not. Many GM cars will not start if a charger is connected.

So not surprising al all.
