I am looking for a thread on how to shorter my door knob locks on the inside on the windowsills I am tired of hitting it with my elbow and getting pinched by it.. Could someone tell me how to make them flush when the door is locked?

You can either just over tighten it or unscrew it and cut it down to size and then re-install.
