Has anyone seen any decent pictures of a WD Durango with the side steps.

My wife's stature makes entry/exit more comfortable if she has side steps. Mopar offers two tubular (black/chrome) or flat steps in black.

Quite frankly the pictures on the Mopar accessories site are terrible. I'm looking to find some representative pictures to show so we can decide which way to go (leaning towards black tubular).

Keep us posted. I had them on my 4Runner and used them often. I'm 5'5 5 1/2". Durango seems a smidge lower, but still think I'd like to consider adding. It bears repeating that mine on the 4Runner saved me lots of door dings from lower cars next to me in parking lots, and that was a plus.

I'm worried about door dings. I'll probably add the side steps or some body molding like this:

Oh, nice. I like that.

On a separate but similar issue, any thoughts on how to protect the (for lack of a more technical name) painted door sills? I generally step over, but i can see them getting scratched up pretty easily.

You can always do a images.google.com search for "Durango Nerf Bars"

You will have to sift through some pics, but there are some decent shots in there. If it were me, I would go with black, non tubular ones. Chrome ones clash in my opinion with the chrome strip that is already along the bottom edge of the Durango.

Ya, they're called door sill guards or scuff plates. Mopar sells them and I'd guess 3rd party ones available too.

I have to laugh, because I did the image search yesterday and sent that same photo to my wife. I pointed out that style step to her on a Ram last night. She decided she preferred to do black non tubular. That's the picture I can't seem to find.

I do like the ones you posted with the chrome edge. Wonder who makes them.

My wife is 5'1" so you can see why she'd like them. Never thought about them as door ding preventers, so that's definitely a plus.

Well, I thought I had changed my order from black steps to chrome steps, but it turns out it was too far along in the process and it will be shipping with black steps. I've been looking absolutely everywhere but I can't find a picture of a silver Durango with black side steps, I hope it looks OK. It may actually be better, because the silver color combined with all of the chrome on the citadel package might be too much if the chrome steps were combined too.

I have a billet silver Citadel, and in my opinion the color and chrome blend nicely, and this blend somewhat minimizes a stark contrast between the two. If you had ended up with the chrome side steps they probably would have looked fine. That being said, and having had side steps on my last vehicle, I have to think the black will wear better over time. Mine were black, with a body color surround. Please post your thoughts and pics after you get your new Durango. Good luck!
