I did a quick search but didn't see anything on my question. Last night I got in the car at the gym. Pushed the start button and looked at my phone for several minutes. When I put the phone down and was ready to drive away, I noticed the EVIC was a blank screen! Car was running, but nothing. I turned the car off/on again and it did not come back. I drove home and noticed the fuel gauge, tach, temp gauge etc were all dead. After letting the car sit for a couple of hours I started it for fun when I took out the dog, all was well.
Has anybody had this happen? Fix?
I have been driving it trouple free for 4 months.
Thanks.

Search for Christmas Tree.

One cause appears to be a loose connector on the right side of the console, that your dealer should be aware of.

Not sure thats all of it.

I've had it happen exactly twice in 3600 miles, first time the dealer kept it all day, scratched their head, did a battery reset. Second time I just turned it off, walked away so all indicators were off, came back and started it. Mine was accompanied by a bogus MIL for an evap leak--where I think there's a TSB now. When it annoys me enough I'll take it in.

Thanks, I will check/monitor the service bulletins. I just got back from several errands over lunch, and everything worked normal. I will keep an eye on it and add it to the list when I take her in for first oil change.

Mine did that last Friday. On Thursday the dealer did the TCM flash and the PCM flash. All was well for a 40 mile drive home. The next day the wife made a 10 mile run to the drug store. Everything was fine on the way but when she came out of the store and started home she did not have any speedo, gauges, nothing on the EVIC. No warning lights or messages, just a blank screen. When she got home we turned it off, waited about 1 minute, cranked it back up and everything was working. She has driven it a couple of times since and so far everything is okay.

I had the same thing happen to under basically the same circumstances. When I got into my car I was talking on my phone and it transferred to the bluetooth connection. When I was done with the call I noticed that the EVIC was blank and I could not control the radio either. The touch screen was basically a brick. I turned everything off, let it power down completely, and restarted. Everything was normal. I think it has something to do with the UConnect Software. It's definitely a software glitch though.

The dealer has applied every applicable TSB and hasn't solved the problem. Happened to me again a few weeks ago. Power down and restart solves the immediate problem. Hopefully when I take it in for the Recall this friday and they do the reprogramming it will take care of the problem once and for all.

I've had the EVIC come up completely blank for me once, but turning it off and on again solved the problem.

Definitely a little disconcerting when it happens though. :(
