Was wondering if anyone got an extended warranty and for how long and how much. My friend just picked up his limited and was asked if he wanted a warranty from Zurich. He declined, thought it was some kind of scam, but before I pick up mine, I wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts about this company or any extended warranty the dealers are offering.

With all the gadgets the overland has, I'm going to be getting the chrysler 7/100k warranty.
I am with you. Lots of things that may cause problems. I am been looking at on-line sources for the Genuine Chrysler Extended Warranty and looks like one can save a few $.

I got the lifetime. I think if you purchase when you get the car you can save 25%. The lifetime is not transferable. I plan to keep the car for very long with no mods.

I was offered the Zurich as well, but since I had never heard of their auto warranties I decided to check it out first. A quick Google search revealed many dissatisified owners. Also, the dealership could not match the deal that is offered by Chrysler Warranties online.

I was offered 5 yr full coverage Chrysler (Canada) warranty for $3500.00 last night. Seems excessive for an extra two years, but I am also of the mindset that extra coverage is a good thing for the Overland.

Can anyone comment on this price? How does it compare with the US, and are there any alternatives from fellow Canadians?

If you search for "warranty" here someone posted that the 7/100k from chryslerwarranties.com is about $1700 US. The dealer offered me the same warranty for $1900.

I got the lifetime max care. I think the way I drive (30-35K per year) I need it. I hate the thought of me still owning a lot of money on a car that has 100,000+ miles on it.

I've been buying Chrysler Max Care extended warranties for a while now. I've had one with the last 4 Jeeps I've bought.

I don't go way overboard but I firmly believe in extending the warranty for the expected duration of your fnancing. So I financed mine for 60 months (payed in 54 with bi-weekly payments) so I got the 6year/60000 mile max care for about 800 bucks. That should cover my expected milege and after it's paid off I can decided if I want to keep it depending on the number of issues I've had.

I've used the warranty more on some vehicals than others but I've never regretted getting it. I just can't imagine continuing to owe money on a vehical that doesn't have a full coverage warranty.

Also a note on third party warranties, don't waste your money, they typically will nickle and dime you to death with whats covered and whats not. Twice with previous vehicles I've had a situation that my Jeep was fixed no questions asked with the Chrysler Max care and the guy next to me had the third party warranty company reject the claim.

Chrysler warranty allows the Jeep Service center to decide if something needs to be fixed/replaced while the third party warranties act kinda like an HMO. The service center will say one thing and if it costs too much the warranty underwriters will kick it back with subpar cheaper methods sometimes just to get you to have to come back and pay the deductible a couple times and reduce thier out of pocket costs.

If your going to buy it go with Max care otherwise just stick that money aside and use it like your own insurance.

While the dealer who sells you this Zurich warranty is likely to accept it this may not be the case with other dealers. When I was shopping for extended warranty years ago for my old ZJ several Chrysler dealers told me they would only accept Chrysler extended warranty. I ended up getting Chrysler extended warranty.

I wouldn't want my choices for warranty repairs to be limited. At the time there were 3 Jeep dealers in Brooklyn and I had negative experience with 2 of them (never used the third). I ended up having to go to Westbury Jeep for warranty work.

Agreed. I've only purchased one extended warranty, and that was for my ZJ, from a company with good reports and a forum sponsor over at Jeeps Unlimited. The only claim I put in was rejected, asking for some verifying info that was almost impossible to gather, and in the process, the company declared bankruptcy. $1,900 down the drain with no way of claiming against them since they were owned by a Caribbean based company. Stick with Chrysler for anything you may want to get.

If you go to chryslerwarrantys.com , and request a quote, they will ask for your email address.

If you don't purchase the warranty right away, you'll get an email with a discount code for another $200 or so off the warranty.

Their price for the Lifetime is $2300 before the discount code.
