Hey guys, I installed the Fastman Oversized 84mm on the truck a few weeks ago and have decided to take her off. I also installed a HPE intake and feel its pulling in more hot air and might be making performance worst than stock in hot weather or bad traffic. (I live in downtown Chicago)

Because of this im going to sell the throttle body when I remove the intake as well. A buddy is likely buying the intake from me however.

I paid $380, sell her for $330 and could ship immediately.

I did the same thing with my Hennessey CAI. I had it on my 2012, and when I got my 2014, I switched it over. Now that the 14s have the intake temperature gauge, I noticed heat levels in stop and go NY traffic of up to 150 and 170 degrees at idle. Driving at normal speeds, it only dropped to around 90 to 92 degrees; still a good 25 to 30 degrees above ambient. Put my stock intake back on and it definitely pulls in cooler air compared to the Hennessey. In normal driving about 15 to 20 degrees above ambient and only about 110 to 125 in stopped traffic at idle.

Question - what is wrong with the Fastmann throttle body? I bought one for my 2012 and still have since it won't fit on the 2014s...

Nothing is wrong with the fastman. I guess i just didn't notice that much of a difference considering I did both that and the CIA at the same time. I will be removing my CIA and trying the fastman alone with stock intake this weekend so we shall see...

Probably won't notice that much of a difference until custom tuning is available.

A few weeks ago i was at the track with a 2012 and really noticed how much heat really hurts the 6.4. I dont remember where but i posted it in the forum here somewhere. I have a hennessey intake and fastman tb. On that day, I was really struggling with slow times and the only thing i could figure was heat. I then decided to heat resistant wrap the metal piping from filter to tb. that made massive difference in keeping consistently fast times. I think the issue is the metal in the intake system is a really bad idea. My best time at the track was by far with the cai, tb and heat wrap. I do believe the cai works!

Larger TB are worthless unless you have corresponding intake, engine and tuning modification. People across all car fields still slap them on though for some reason thinking that simply making the TB hole bigger adds more power.

If it was as simple as widening your TB diameter to increase power.....why wouldn't the factory engineers do it and save expensive machining and development elsewhere?

Heads, headers, exhaust and tune? Sure, then do it. Just slapping it on in your driveway. Nope.

I agree, I never thought the throttle body would add any real power. I was just looking for some potential throttle response.

The heat wrap is a good idea, il try that this week!

As far the heat wrap went. I bought something really cheap from summit racing. It needed a little twicking but worked. now that i am convinced it works i am looking for a more permanent solution that has a nicer appeal. I will post when i figure something out.

I will take the TB, I already have the HPE intake.
