Sorry if this was covered before but I can't find it. I checked the front axle dif. fluid level in my 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited and with vehicle level it's down where I can hardly reach it with a tooth pick. Never change the fluid it's factory fill. How far down from the fill plug is the correct fluid level? Thanks.

On your diff housing are two plugs, upper and lower. Undo/open the upper plug and fill it up until it begins to leak back out. The bottom plug is for draining. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I don't have any of the OEM fluid. Don't want to buy a quart at $60.00 from the dealer. I'm just going to change the fluid and fill to top of fill port with another brand fluid. Thanks again.
