Ok, I know this has been asked before on other forums. I understand D status to mean the dealer has allocation, parts are available. I know D1 is supposed to mean production scheduled. Ok now here's the other part. The VOTS email says up to 2 weeks in this status, a girl at I am JEEP told me up to 30 days. Others who have ordered these vehicle have waited around 25-33 days. I'm closing in on 40 days at this status and wondering what the issue is. I know people can wait for months based on different variables but It seems like if people have to wait, most people wait in D status for along time to get to D1. I thought once you hit D1 you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Well at 40 days I'm not seeing any light anymore. Vehicles ordered after mine already have estimated shipping dates, mine is listed as N/A. Any input would be great.

In a normal production cycle (read: not the start of a model year, not a new vehicle, not a new option, etc), you can expect D1 in 2 weeks or less. Things do happen and I wish there was text on VOTS to explain this but when new models launch, a new model year starts, or a new option starts up, delays can and will occur. Especially in the scheduling part AND the QA part. If you want to PM you VIN, I can take a look to see what may be the hold up (I defer tracking to Milous).

If you're asking this about a Cherokee, I would suggest that "normal" schedules don't apply. The software flash and retesting threw a big wrench into their stated timeline. Yes it's hard to wait, but I'd rather the car be right the first time. The best resource for you might be to go to the sales manager at your dealership and have him/her email the local Chrysler rep to see about pushing your sold unit along.

EDIT: It will actually help you that it hasn't been built yet - I'm hearing that the units coming off the line are being shipped ahead of those in storage.

I was just informed by my dealer that our Limited is now in D1 with an expected shipping date of Nov 9. We will be in FLA but my son will take delivery. Won't get to see it until we return in mid-December.
