I've noticed for a while that I feel alot of heat from the motor under the vehicle by the driver door. I can't feel it inside or any thing like that but when I'm at a drive through with the window down or standing next to the drivers side while the vehicle is running it is really noticeable. Much more than on the passenger side. Is it normal or do I have an issue. My truck doesn't overheat so I know the fan is running. Just curious. Can I add a heat shield or anything like that to direct the heat to the back of the jeep. Thanks in advance.

The cooling fan is drawing air through the radiator and this air circulates around the engine and escapes at the underside of the engine compartment. Your jeep has the hydraulic cooling fan, which runs all the time, eventhough at 500 rpm when idling, but always moving air. Why you feel it more at the drivers side then the passengers side i don´t know. I do feel it on my jeep as well, is quite normal.

I'm not familiar with the vehicle, so this may be off base. I'm wondering, if this is something new, if you could have lost a heat shield from the exhaust.

Thanks guys. I've always noticed it but now with the lift and bigger tires, it's more noticeable. Since its normal, I'm not going to worry that much about it. Next time I'm under the truck I'll see if I can set up a heat shield or something that's not noticeable.
