Kinda disagree with the ghetto observation, don't think it's a fad, black rims have been around along time, personally it depends on your color Jeep and what's pleasing to your "eye".JTS and another guy both have goliath(I believe, looked at a lot of threads so could be wrong) the one has a white JGC and the black looks ridiculously good on it,and another guy has the same on his black Jeep but went with the chrome/silver finish and that looks equally as awesome.Just depends on your taste as to what you want YOUR particular Jeep to look like.Your truck, your personal stamp on it.Another guy has these on his black JGC but he went whole hog and de chromed everything put on a real unique hood(not an SRT but something else, looks like a hemi hood but with side vents in it too) some like it,some don't,me,I think all the rigs look cool and it's all down to personal taste. Me,I like the silver or chrome finish rims,I think they look great on my Green JGC.BUT,on my met red '90 Wrangler,I have black rims(I swap between them and a polished aluminum set, both on 35's) every couple of years and have done since 1990.Again,just down to your personal taste.Ask a dozen people, will get at least 6 answers. In ANY event, enjoy whatever you choose.
I got a great deal on a set of SRT wheels and tires (Pirelli scorpions boots) got great feedback from owners, knew thru them I didn't need to do any upgrades but also advised me stopping distance would be further and they are heavy,as noted by someone on my thread and I certainly notice it,so,just be advised on those notes too before dropping $$$$$ on upgrades.
