A few times per year I treat the Jeep to a trip to the spa where I drop it off with the Lincolns, BMWs and MBs for an inside and outside treatment where the mats go into a washing machine and the inside is perfumed. I wait in the lounge drinking as much of their coffee as I can until it comes out the other end where the attendants towel dry it and remove the tar spots.
I check to be sure there are still 2 exterior mirrors, front and rear license plates and the lights are still set to auto. As I drove away today I noticed that the ESC light was on so I assumed they hit the hard button while cleaning the inside. Not so. I pulled over after about 1/8 mile and discovered that they had inadvertently turned the Selec-Terrain knob from Auto to Sand.
One more thing to be aware of if you let someone else clean the inside of your vehicle.:thumbsup:

Yea, boy, that is SOME service, I bet they do good work on the Jeep too. But, if you're getting tar spots from coffee, I dunno, I'd check with a doctor.

I would think the attendants would do more damage during the tow process they employ to dry the vehicle...I've never seen this done before, but I suppose the blow-drying effect of towing it at high speed would speed the drying process.

Don't forget locking the Quadra-Lift system out when going for tires or brake work or anytime the vehicle is going on a lift.

The tire places around me in L.A. had no idea but they were very keen in knowing how to perform the lockout on the Jeep for future customers so I showed them the process.

My daughter did this to my wife. She was playing in the front while waiting for her granny to pick her up and starting pressing all the buttons she could. When my wife came back home, she couldn't figure out why the car was lifted in the air and certain lights were on. I still to this day try to teach her all the features, but she insists she will just drive it normally and not worry about the extra bells and whistles.

We just got a laredo, and it has just two buttons and the shifter can go into sport, and my wife freaks if a light looks out of place.

It doesn't seem to take more than about 60-80 for a mile or so.

I wonder where they get those attendants, though. Do they have funny looking brown spots and are sorta short and skinny with big teeth?

I guess they left the engine running the whole time it was getting spiffed up...unless Jeep has changed things from MY12 to MY14. Turn off my Jeep and it's back to "Auto" when next turned on!

But yea...easy to turn that knob when cleaning.

Thats why I never let anyone else clean her. For one, I actually enjoy detailing the rig and two, people just don't give a $hit if it isn't their own car. IMHO of course.

The '14 also defaults to Auto.
