My daughter took her 2011 patriot to the dealer for it dropping into limp mode while driving. They gave her a wild parts list and estimate ($3500 ) to repair, none of which included the transmission being at fault. One problem they said was we need to replace intake manifold makes no since but hell I can do it so while taking off airbox and whatnot I noticed a crust from a dried leak from the side of the head that I thought was the thermostat housing, and figured bad gasket. So went to order the housing and gasket just in case it was cracked. But the only one the part store showed was not on the head or did not look even close. Same went with the dealer so anybody have a clue? It is located on battery side 4 inches below valve cover in the middle side of the head. It is black plastic has 2 bolts and what I believe is a coolant hose going towards the cabin. Please help I need to get this part soon
