Hello!
I recently bought a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 5.7L hemi. I’m so excited to have it and want to do some upgrades.. (exhaust/wheels) any reconditions? I want to start with getting bigger tires, I have 18” rims and was wondering if I should get bigger tires or bigger rims. If so what kind of tires do y’all recommend! I appreciate the feedback.

Welcome.

You can certainly upsize your tires if you wish...many. folks have done so and there are about a billion threads that discuss tires, sizing, etc. Do keep in mind that if you upsize your tires, you must also upsize your spare to a tire of the same diameter to avoid damaging your drivetrain if you need to use the spare. Your speedo and odo will also be inaccurate unless you spend some money for software to change that...the dealer cannot help you on that. Do also note that ~32" is the max you can run without physical modification and ~33" with a pinch weld modification, but the specific tire you choose will also affect fitment.

There is a giant rabbit hole of discussions involving tires, wheels and exhaust, mods in general. That being said I agree with Jim. The wheel size is subjective and dependent on the desired outcome. 18s ride a bit better in general and are better off road, more sidewall then on the larger wheels. If more sporty handling or looks are what your after 20s might be better.....maybe. I've run 275/65/18 and 255/70/18s on the 2 WK2s I've had. 265/65/18 is a popular size and usually is free from any rubbing issues.

As far as exhaust, in my opinion the Corsa exhaust is the best overall, and if I replaced my exhaust it would very likely be the Corsa kit.

By the way....welcome! Hope this helps.

Pic was taken right after the tires were installed and prior to me adding airlinks to add an inch level to the front. Tires are on the factory wheels, 275/65/18 BFG KM3s.

Has anyone proven or shown exhaust upgrades increased power at all on the WK2?

If you want to spend the money for the cool sound that is OK.

But its not the 1970's anymore where all vehicles came with very restrictive exhaust and a aftermarket exhaust boosted your power, the OEM exhaust is pretty free flowing.

Mongo, while it's true that there is not the significant benefit that existed "back in the day" with upgraded exhaust, a well designed, high-end product like the Corsa likely provides at least some small benefit. To their credit, Jeep really does have a good, open design for both intake and exhaust on the JGC so as you note, the most noticeable change is going to be auditory.
