Ive been trying to diagnose why my rear wheel seem too hot after a run. Checked caliper...oK..e brake adjusted and much better so my question is :

I HAVE DISCS ALL AROUND JEEF T.J. UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS WHEN STOPPED SHOULD THE REAR WHHEL WHEELS FEEL COOL , WARM , QUITE WARM ( not scalding but quite hot...can just leave my palm there)

Is this normal?

Thanks?

After i changed my rear brake pads i had some strane smell coming from the rear of the jeep. I felt the wheels with my hand and the wheels where reasonably warm. Then i measured with an infrared temperature reader and found the rear brakes quite some hotter then the front ones. This seems to be coming from the difference between the solid rear discs and ventilated front ones.
The temperature ofcourse depends a lot on where you where driving. If it was city driving with stop and go traffic, they can become quite hot, while when you only drive on the highway (and don't brake), they should be quite cool.
Compare the brakes on the same axle and if the temperatures are the same, its probably ok. If they become hot after driving highway for some time, then it doesn't seem to be normal.
