Since I just replaced my key fob batteries, I thought it would be interesting to see how long your key fob batteries have lasted, & whether or not you changed the battery as a result of receiving the EVIC "Key Battery Low" message.

I changed mine out when I got the EVIC low battery message, this was 16 months in to owning my vehicle. About a week after changing the battery I got the low battery message again. Switched to the back up fob and then got the message once more. Put new batteries in both fobs and no problems since. We'll see how long they hold out.

Just noticed the last entry in the poll should read; "31+ months without EVIC "Key Battery Low" message"

Mine lasted 1 month short of 2 years on my 2011 GC Limited. My symptom was "Key Not Detected" unless you got the key out of your pocket. Happened in very cold weather. New batteries fixed the problem. Al

If you notice the key fob becoming less responsive, go ahead and change the battery. I ended up locked out of my car when the key fob was in a pocket on my briefcase. This had never been an issue before, but the batter had become weak.

I had no EVIC message. This occurred after about 18 months.
