Hi,
Happy new owner of a 2008 Jeep Libety Sport, never had a Jeep before. Brought it in to the shop to have some general maintenance done and within 24 hours after getting it back ABS was activated in a not very hard break and ABS, ESPBAS, SERV4WD and the traction control lights lit up. Brought it back to the shop where they found a cable to one of the sensors that was slightly damaged so they repaired that. Since then we've managed to activate the lights once again but they disapeared after letting the car rest over night and hasn't lit up for at least 50 miles.
Took it to a guy to interpret the codes who could not identify the exact problem but said there were indications that the front left, front right and back left sensors where sometimes giving bad readings. His recommendation was to change all four sensors since they easily become faulty with time so best to change all at once.

Now to my question. First time I'm doing wheel speed sensors and found a kit of all four for $27 at amazon or a single rear sensor for $97 and everything in between. What's the general opinion regarding wheel speed sensors, are they like most things, that you get what you pay for or will the kit of four for $27 do the trick?
Any recommendations on brands or comments on if it makes sense to excange all four are also welcome!

Cheer!

What did they do as far as maintenance?
The amount of times in my life I have seen 4 bad sensors is exactly none , and I do this for a living..it's possible, but not very likely

So, 2 things..first, I suspect your guy either does not have the proper tool, or does not know how to read ABS data.
Second, 4 sensors for $27 sounds like a disaster in the making.

My recommendation is before you do anything, get it to a shop that can diagnose it rather than just take a guess as to what's wrong.

They changed the break pad, resurfaced the disc pads and changed front tripod joints. Might add that I live in Venezuela so reliable mechanics with Jeep knowledge not easy to find... which is why I decided to join the forum to get some good second opinions.
Now the error codes have been cleaned out and the lights are not lit. So maybe better to see how things develop and if they come on again read the codes and take it from there?
