After taking a hit on my 14 Overland(sticker was 49k, put 15k miles on it in 6 months and was lucky to sell it for 40k) I'm curious as to how the Durango will do over time. The problem with the Jeep is that it was to new to have anything established as far as resale value goes. I have a feeling the Durango will be even worse. It's hard not to add a bunch of options that have a less than stellar return down the road.

I have a "13" Crew with 4k miles loaded sticker over $44k only being offered $30k to $31800 against invoice of new Limited sticker for 44k. I also have 14 overland offered up to 42k against Durango Citadell. Durango is taking bigger hit as rental co having vs few Jeeps to rental co. Thought I could get at least 35k hard mony out of Durango. No way. Sad

Apparently a $51,555 Durango with 5k miles is worth around 40k on trade..

I would say so.

What are you looking at this time? My guess is a 2014 SRT.
You are correct sir! I loved my 12 but wanted the 8 speed the whole time I owned it. The Durango is nice but.

I just don't understand these threads...... so many people talk about the great deals they get off sticker, ie 5k or more off (deals I never seem to find), but then they whine and complain when the vehicle takes another 5k hit after they drive off the lot...... all the while referencing the sticker price which is of no consequence anyway.

Vehicles depreciate. 10k off sticker after one day, 50% off sticker after about three or three and a half years.

The original price is sticker price - the actual out the door price was probably something like 45 to 46K - so this is not out of line!

20% off sticker is not at all out of line unless you bought a very limited edition model.

If the hit is too big, why not wait and pick up a Grand Wagoneer with a 6.4?

Or, if you like Dodge's, it looks like the SRT Vipers aren't selling well, which if you were to be able to consider, might yield a decent price break.

I'm not complaining about the trade value by any means. I think it's a very fair number actually. Had I bought a base RT I'd probably be even happier with the numbers. The Wagoneer is getting the 6.4?!

Yeah, but probably not the SRT version from what I am hearing, although I could be wrong. Scott has been talking about a detuned version, but I would still be happy with ~420 HP (although not as happy as I would with 470+ HP ).

It'll probably be similar to the 6.4 in the ram

In canada, the 2011's seem to be about 40% cheaper than a new one. You'd get less on a trade in. I considered one, but I knew that 5spd in the RT would've drove me crazy.

I wonder if it'll drop more once it is discontinued? Perhaps the pricier wagoneer replacement could actually help it hold its value.
