Pretty sure it’s not placebo- my initial observations:

1) air temp no longer hovers in the middle of the gauge, and for most of my 60 minute commute was within 5 degrees of the ambient temperature.
2) my butt dyno says there’s about 15-20hp more
3) my subwoofer enclosure was ripped from its mount point which has never happened before
4) have not had opportunity to do any unobstructed 0-60 or ¼ mile runs, but can say a tenth or 2 or 3 is a reasonable gain here
5) the engine sound improved somewhat.

I hope to get some real data soon, but I am happy I went for it.

Here’s a few pics. Need to clean my engine bay but I daily drive 80+ miles in this thing<img src="https://jeepgarage.org/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />

The Forum choked on a .jpeg file extension. Sorry, I had to rename the file to .jpg to upload it.

I have the same CAI. It was my only option at the time because it was the only CAI that was CARB approved. I'm happy with it. I like the OEM appearance and OEM fit and finish. My only concern is when it comes time to clean. The filter and the housing are one piece, so you need to almost completely disassemble the unit for cleaning.

I have the same kit. be careful mounting the bitch, the side panel rubbed the wire-harness to my driver side headlight. sliced it in half..

otherwise, no noticeable performance gains, slightly louder up front, filter gets dirty fast

I installed an AFE Carbon Fiber unit on my 2018 about 6 months ago. It has the under hood snorkel, which I thought might take the place of a hood scoop. I still can’t believe you can get an SRT hood scoop hood on an R/T Durango and not offer one for the Jeep..

How does the engine sounds with the intake and CF tubing? I ask because I have an intake with CF plumbing on my M3 and the engine is quite a bit louder at high rpms. Might be worth considering for the SRT if the same can be said with the AFE setup.

To be honest, I don’t notice a real sound difference. I’d like to do a side by side comparison with the stock set up to compare. I’m not sure if maybe the closed filter box may have a quieting effect? They claim up to 35hp gains with this, tho. Not sure I believe that, not without additional mods. Then maybe. 🤷‍♂️
