Hi all, wanting peoples thoughts / experiences regarding insurance of the MY14 JGC. I have tried a search, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

1. Certain policies (eg. Woolworths) exclude off road use of the vehicle, while others say nothing in this regard. I'm not one to assume that because the policy is silent that off road use is covered. Does anyone know which insurers cover off road use? Has anyone claimed for accidents off road?
2. We are waiting on a CRD laredo with ORAII and QL. Most insurers do not have these options listed on their websites as factory fitted accessories. How do people ensure these options are covered? By not being able to specify these options being fitted, AAMI's agreed value is significantly lower than what we are paying (any we're not paying full sticker either)
3. What have people being paying to insure the GC? We are being consistently quoted around $1200-$1300, which seems a bit high (although we are in a higher risk area of Melbourne).

There's quite a bit of info if you search the WK2DownUnder thread on "insurance". I pay $600 with Youi with "market value" replacement, however the small print must be read in conjunction with the appealling price as they are not all the same. Still, $600 for a $75k vehicle fully comp sold the policy. The basics for mine include nominated drivers only, no driver under 25, $50 excess of windscreen/windows, must be locked away each night...etc. Can't comment on the "offroad" insurance regarding my policy but I would be suprised if it was included and if it is, it would have a few hundred get out clauses in favour of the insurance company!! There are only two as far as i am aware
Brokers in victoria and TCIS insurance brokers
You pay for what you get but what you get is full aust wide insurance any where including 4x4 parks up the beach
Give them a go

No don't work for them
Just did lots of research on the same subject
