All bulbs are the wedge type 194 (except vanity & glovebox which I didn't do). The manual is wrong. The 4 swivel lights and 2 map lights up front are not replaceable. They cast a yellow hue but the leds from VLED I used are so bright they washed them out so it's really not too noticeable.

All the dome lights were difficult to remove and required pliers to pull them out. The middle dome light was extremely tight and I ended up crushing it with the pliers raining glass shards down on me. I still couldn't get it out after that so I had to remove the housing. The only way I could remove it was by using a punch tool on the back side of the housing to push it out. Getting the led bulbs in wasn't a piece of cake either taking some wiggling and pressure.

I did not replace the vanity mirror bulbs yet or the glove compartment. I'm still trying to figure out how to access the glove compartment bulb, it's housing is rather strange but i've only given it a quick look so far. The leds are polarity specific so if they don't light up turn them around. Below is a video on how to install them (not my vid). It's for a Grand Cherokee but everything is the same except for the grab handle lights and the tailgate. The Durango tailgate lights are easier, the white housing does not need to be removed. I posted some pics with notes.

I used these leds for the tailgate, dome and footwell lights. total of 8 bulbs.

Thanks for the guide, i ordered a few Osram Ledriving leds in the 4k color spectrum for my Durango, I have them installed in my other vehicle, and they are easily the best LEDS period.

little trick i saw on youtube-

if having trouble pulling those dome lights- put a piece of tape on them- it gives you just enough traction to pull them with your fingers.

I started digging into mine and I was pretty sure i was going to need to break them to get them out too. But then i remembered that tip.

I just put some masking tape on mine and they pulled right out by hand. Didn't even need pliers.

One thing- the tape glue sticks all over the bulbs- if i needed to put them back there would probably be some sort of solvent needed to clean them up.

also should mention- never saw a bulb like that in the glove box before. I actually bought a kit that had everything- dome lights, visors, liftgate, reverse lights, front floor lights- but the bulb they gave me for the glove box is not right.

the vendor gave me a bulb with the normal push in type base like the rest, but the bulb that is in there (on a '14) is actually smaller. It's similar push in base but like half the width/diameter.

only marking is "37"...

How did you change it? I just bought the precision led kit but the video has nothing on the glove compartment.. I don't know how to change it and can't find a video on how to do it....these led lights are bright..just going to wait till someone can shed some info on the situation

there's a tab on one end that you press in and then the whole assemble will pull out.

Once you have the assembly out- then you slide the back of the assembly off to get at the bulb.

when time comes to put it back together- MAKE SURE YOU TEST THE BACK to be sure you slide it on and it is locked to the whole bulb. Otherwise when you press the whole assembly back in place it will fall apart and you will spend 20 minutes trying to fish out the back- trust me on this- lol.

Be weary if you got the bulb from precision. I had two problems with them and they corrected it but the bulb they finally sent me for the glovebox was not correct- it was the correct size/shape but the contact pattern was not the same. Seems the "typical" pattern of the contact is left to right - so that's what precision got me. But the socket in the truck is front to back. So the precision bulb shorts the socket.

I got impatient with the precision bulb and tried to dremel off the offending contacts but that killed the bulb (I figured it was a 50/50 shot or probably 25/75)

I think the correct bulb is like this one:
Amazon.com: LEDwholesalers Mini-Wedge T5 74 LED Bulb with 3xSMD3528, White, 1408WH: Automotive
notice it doesn't carry the front contact all around to the rear not the rear to the front so no shorts.

Thanks for the help... I'm going to try my best and use the directions you gave me to get to the bulb.. I have a 2015 so I'm going to try the bulbs the gave me first... I haven't had the chance to really check the bulb bc I couldn't get to it.. Are you saying the bulb in that Amazon link is the correct one?

yep- i think the amazon one is correct but i have not had a chance to purchase one to be sure.

if you have a multimeter you can check the socket once you get the old bulb out. If it's the same as the '14 both top contacts are the same circuit and both bottom are the same. Then check the bulb you have to replace with and see if both top are the same or different and be sure it's the same as the socket.

just to clarify- if i wasn't clear you dont have to pull out the glove box- the light bulb holder is all that comes out. It's mounted in the dash above the bin part of the glove box. It's lengthwise left to right and one side has a tab you push in and then the bulb holder will come out of the dashboard.
