I would love to know where you got your acceleration tests from because they certaintly aren't what i have experienced and read.
In most of the Australian car magazines they put the v8 at 1 second behind the ecodiesel at 0-100klmph.
I have driven several crds in both 5 and 8 speed and the 8 speed goes like the clappers.
I have also driven the v6 and there is no way on earth that it is faster than my ecodiesel.
You must take in account that the crd develops more torque at 1600 rpm that the v8 develops at max revs.
Mixed driving 1200 klms per tank or 740miles (30mpg) is about the norm for me.
