I went to check my oil today first time ever pulled out my dipstick and found this. is this normal???

What exactly is your concern? That it's twisted and curved? Mine is the same way. The material used is too thin IMO. They add the twists to keep it from kinking. But it's very hard to install. You have to use two hands and 'guide' it back into the opening. I find the oil level hard to read because it gets smeared by the tube as you pull out the dipstick.

Yep, that's the way it is supposed to look. If you follow the dipstick tube, down to the oil pan, you can see why it needs all those twists and bends to make it home.

Holding onto the bottom (about 3 or 4 inches above the hashmarks) when removing will make reading the oil level a little easier, as it stops it from scraping along the edge as it is being removed.

Thanks for all your help guys I plan on changing my oil this weekend and was alittle worried when I saw that
