Probably only going to be on the 3.7 and 6.1, there is not actual shift linkage on these with the NAG1, on the rfe the computer cannot just decide to move the shifter to neutral.

It was my understanding that it was on all transmissions.

The shifting is actually the NV245 transfercase shifting into neutral.

Apparently, there is the possibility of a short causing a biased voltage to be picked up by (I think) the FDCM, which misinterprets the signal as a request to shift the transfercase into neutral.

I'm guessing the dealers are just going to re-program the software to not consider those conditions as a request to shift.

I heard almost 500k were recalled with about 300k in the US.idk if it's a the same problem but there have been a couple times where I started mine, put it in drive right away, gave it gas and it acted like it was in neutral for a second.guess we will see!

Does my superchips tune need to be pulled before I go in? And will the update be overwritten when I retune after?

That sounds like your torque converter is draining over time. This could be normal (if the delay is very short after the vehicle has been sitting for a while), or indicative of a problem with the spin-on type filter in the transmission pan. Have you had your trans serviced and these filters replaced? Some of the 2005's had a defect in this filter that would cause the symptoms you describe.

Anyone notified yet?
We're in Sydney Australia and received the recall letter from Chrylser Aust last week.

It states...

'The recall has not been officially released in the US as yet but the Fiat Chrysler Group have taken a precautionary measure to notify all owners of the upcoming recall which is due to be released July 2013.

Owners will receive a 2nd letter explaining the official release once we have confirmed the launch.

To date the only occurrence of inadvertent gearshifts into neutral have been in vehicles fitted with remote start-up function which is only available in the US'

Does anyone have details about actual incidences or accidents of this fault. About a year ago, I parked under my carport at home without turning the engine off yet. I looked up and was rolling forward into a wall. I nudged it a couple of inches before quickly hitting the brakes & reversing out of it. I was returning home after a long graveyard shift at work & was pretty cashed, so I just thought that I spaced putting it in park & let off the brake & coasted. not too much damage to the wall or the vehicle. I had some good spiderwebs in the center of the bumper that I just masked off & covered with matte black Plasti-dip. Could this have been a result or a similar incident causing the recall?
